Pax Ivanna pergola, March 14th , 2017. Gazebos can be built with overhanging roofs to offer greater shade on sunny warm days. You could also build a sun terrace or a veranda to get the maximum benefit from your garden. This will be a great place to relax and enjoy a cozy time with a good book or a cup of coffee.
Christabel Daniella pergola, March 13th , 2017. Just like the iron gazebo - It creates an outdoor garden room that can become an extension of your home. It can be freestanding or attached to a structure, providing shade and architectural interest to your outdoor space. It can stand alone, naked. However to soften the structure and make it blend into landscape, it is very popular to add plants such as bougainvillea, jasmine or grapes. When decorated with brightly coloured foliage it can really become a stunning focal point to your garden and the harsh lines of the bare structure will disappear.

A correctly installed, high quality woven wire fence manufactured from high tensile steel can last for more than 40 years depending on the quality and treatment of the fence posts used; this vastly reduces maintenance and repair costs compared with using a lower quality or badly installed fence.
Korinna Kriemhild pergola, March 14th , 2017. When we talk about the design of a garden arbor or pergola, we're talking about the material as much as anything. The type of material used in making the structure will have a big impact on the look and use of the end product. There are three primary materials used for garden arbors and pergolas: wood, metal, and plastic. All three materials have their pros and cons, as we will explain.
Sonja Mairenn pergola, March 15th , 2017. 5. Create road appeal by placing your pergola over a front porch in place of a standard roof. Paint or stain it the same color as your shutters or house trim. It won't entirely keep out the rain, but it will provide a certain amount of shelter, and create an impressive entrance.
Clarissa Bancroft pergola, March 13th , 2017. When I was young, I distinctly remember an adult telling me in a nasty way Id never amount to anything in life. Clearly they were angry although I never understood why. I hadnt done anything to warrant it at that time. (I had plenty of other times though.) Those words stayed with me for decades. I attended college (with no aspirations) simply because my mother insisted. (Thank you, mom.) Eleven days after graduation I married my high school sweetheart and soon thereafter started a family. Staying home raising children was safe and at times became a convenient excuse for not venturing outside of the home. After all, what else could I possibly do? I reminded myself Id never amount to anything so why even try?
Emem Tomislava pergola, March 15th , 2017. Wood is probably the oldest type of material that has historically been used for constructing arbors and pergolas. It is inexpensive, readily available, and can be easily cut. Furthermore, wood can be stained or painted to match another existing structure, such as the house, shed or garage. One downfall of wood is that it does decay over time. Wood can also harbor certain types of pests, and it will eventually rot, splinter, and crack. The types of wood that can be used in an arbor or pergola are almost endless, but generally it's a good idea to look for a wood that weathers well and resists decay, such as cedar. For a rustic look, consider using log cedar. For a very basic, rudimentary structure, you could even use fallen timber, branches, and twigs tied together.
Rashmi Jameela pergola, March 15th , 2017. Since this fence is lightweight, you will not need heavy posts either. I used four inch diameter treated wooden posts from Lowes and 6.5 foot tall TEE posts from Tractor Supply. I used six inch diameter treated posts for my H braces at either end and at the ninety foot point also for strength. Since this is lighter fencing material, those brace posts could have been just five inch diameter for additional savings.
